I live in Sacramento also, and could meet up within an hour or two of here, so San Francisco, Stockton, Napa, Tahoe, maybe Reno….I guess it depends on the reason and whatnot.
But I"m definitely up for it! :)
Oh, and I occasionally head south to the LA area too….maybe once or twice a year at most.

I live in Sacramento. Very exited about the future meetups. It's lonely here for the Godless. I want in!

Haha, too funny! That song by CCR could just as easily have been called Modesto, huh?

Well, that does not mean you can not meet up… Just that you need to find a Ride Share in your neighborhood so you can get a ride to the meet ups in your area.
I would however recommend this option to EVERYONE in this forum, as Ride Sharing reduces cost (gas, parking, maintenance & environmental) and increases community involvement and awareness. So, to those of you that HAVE a car please think about joining a Ride Share Network to offer a seat or two in your car to your neighbors.
I have started a state wide network on Facebook and if you have the desire to get your feet wet just drop me a line and I can get you started in the awesomeness that is Ride Sharing, something that is unfortunately very under utilized in this region.

Indeed, I would love to meet up, I have an Atheist friend(who can drive us) but I don"t think he can fully grasp the ideas of this movement. He kinda just bashes religion.

Sacramento (Roseville). Member of several Sacramento area atheist/freethinker groups. Several members of these groups walk around in pairs with me, wearing bright blue t-shirts that say "Ask an Atheist" front and back. We walk around public events like Second Saturday downtown art event, convention center events, etc. I also wear my t-shirt out to the grocery store, car wash, fast food, etc. The visibility is working. See my website regarding this "out" project: http://outatheist.info. Most of the local atheist groups meet downtown Sacramento.

I have roots in sunny San Diego, although it hasn"t been very sunny lately Haha. I"ll be available for meet ups as long as anyone interested is able to make the trip to Afghanistan, I"ll be there for a little while. (USMC)

I think so far I am the furthest north. I live in McKinleyville. Which is in Humboldt County in Northern California. I am not far from the Oregon border. So only on special occasions will I be able to meet up. Its about a five hour drive to the Bay Area. I am in a pretty remote location. Would be nice to know if there were other members in the area.
