NAP Announces Four Scholarships

The National Atheist Party, in a push to encourage the expansion of knowledge and the principles of secular humanism, has created two distinct scholarships: Our Secular Future Scholarship and the Science Steps Forward Scholarship. Four awards of $1,000 will be available, one award to a college and one to high school student for both scholarships.  Education should be a high priority for the youth of America. The National Atheist party wants to show its support for those who have aimed their sights on higher education and have been recognized for upholding secular values. Since the National Atheist Party is currently a non-profit organization, it is important to constantly remain invested in the community. The scholarships are all funded from donations and fundraising campaigns. The National Atheist Party is working hard to create a better, brighter future, not just for ourselves but also for posterity. The importance of investing in the enlightenment and encouragement of future generations is becoming more and more evident as an increasing number of young students take an active role in their community, stand up for and spread awareness of secular values and the importance of education.

naps national scholarship

The National Atheist Party establishes the Scholarship for Our Secular Future in order to support the young leaders and activists, who through the building of atheist community, political activism, and charitable acts, support the values that will serve as the foundation for our secular future.

The National Atheist Party is committed to a government free of superstition and bias, guided by the principles of Secular Humanism, equal opportunity, recognition of merit, and economic responsibility. We do not seek to inhibit the religious practices or beliefs of any group, but are committed to the division of church and state and that religious preference is a private matter, which has no place in the government or in government facilities. Encouragingly, the emerging generation is increasingly more secular than those past. As a result, the youth of America will lead us in the positive direction of a secular government and a more rational and humane society.

This scholarship is eligible to U.S. Citizens enrolled in an accredited institution with a GPA of 3.0 or higher. The applicant must demonstrate political or community action that supports the National Atheist Party values and the creation of a secular future with the intention of continuing leadership in support of those values. national scholarships announcement

The National Atheist Party establishes the Science Steps Forward Scholarship with the aim to enhance and emphasis the enriching expansion of knowledge and utility which strengthens the United States of America. Scientific research and technological innovation are the primary drivers of progress and understanding; however, public investment in scientific research, education, and training is an economic and intellectual necessity for which the United States has sadly fallen behind.

The National Atheist Party believes that expertise, evidence, and ethics should be the foundation of public policy and the impetus for every step forward our nation takes into the future. Trained scientists, as well as thorough research and experimentation, are required for necessary expertise and actionable evidence. To that end, the National Atheist Party establishes the Science Steps Forward Scholarship so that the National Atheist Party’s value of investment in the scientific leaders of tomorrow is made manifest.

The eligibility of this scholarship is restrained to U.S. Citizens who are enrolled full-time in an accredited institution and have declared a major in research or applied sciences. A GPA of 3.0 or higher is also required. For details on the application process see below.
